“If I can stop one heart from breaking…”

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Emily Dickinson

I can hardly wait...

until next game day with the sisters. I bought a new game! It is Cooking Scrabble. As I was reading the instructions I told Perry, 'I wish Zita was here. She is a whiz at understanding game rules.' The board is a standard Scrabble board but you try to make food or cooking words whenever possible because you get extra points....and you can use brand names. Also, add onto words to make cooking phrases...eg..fish and add sticks.  You are allowed to use cooking abbreviations eg..tsp or tbsp. It will be so much fun.

Patience Taught By Nature.....

'O dreary life,' we cry, 'O dreary life!'
And still the generations of the birds
Sing through our sighing, and the flocks and herds
Serenely live while we are keeping strife
With Heaven's true purpose in us, as a knife
Against which we may struggle! Ocean girds
Unslackened the dry land, savannah-swards
Unweary sweep, hills watch unworn, and rife
Meek leaves drop yearly from the forest-trees
To show, above, the unwasted stars that pass
In their old glory: O thou God of old,
Grant me some smaller grace than comes to these!
But so much patience as a blade of grass
Grows by, contented through the heat and cold

I can't escape......

road construction! I don't drive anymore but there is no escaping construction. My street is all torn up. Hopefully we are getting an improved sewer system? That remains to be seen. I was unaware ours had a problem in the first place. . We were told that we would be informed any time we risked being pinned in or w/o water. If Perry had not gone out early and moved our car we would have been stuck in all day.. All day long,  beep..beep...beep...beep...beep. I am going bonkers hearing that sound. How do those poor men stand it every day. And I pray none of them get heat stroke.

Here we go again....

the sound is off on my computer AGAIN. Everything has been working fine, until this morning. Perry noticed it when he checked in early. Anthony showed Perry how he fixed it last time so maybe it won't be a big deal. I hope, I hope, I hope. I am so tired of nothing running smooth.

Has anyone talked to Rick? Did he make it home yesterday morning? I don't know when or if I should call. I flounder about what to do.

I miss my mother and my sisters. I am lonesome again. I try to be content but it is just not working for me. I am blessed in many ways. I do, know that. This twilight of my life is not much fun.

Sisters please keep in touch. Zita, I am so praying for you...and Bitsi, how was your birthday? Norma, hang in there. I love you all so much.

Say it isn't so....

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You." Dr Seuss

OK then....

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,

Like Rain it sounded till it curved.....

Like Rain it sounded till it curved
And then I new ’twas Wind –
It walked as wet as any Wave
But swept as dry as sand –
When it had pushed itself away
To some remotest Plain
A coming as of Hosts was heard
It filled the Wells, it pleased the Pools
It warbled in the Road –
It pulled the spigot from the Hills
And let the Floods abroad –
It loosened acres, lifted seas
The sites of Centres stirred
Then like Elijah rode away
Upon a Wheel of Cloud.

Isaiah 55:6-12

Free offer of mercy to all....

Today's New International Version (TNIV)

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

Lord, please forgive me all my sins and shortcomings. I praise YOU daily and never, ever forget YOUR mercy bestowed on me when YOU saved my soul. I pray YOU will send us rain...In Jesus Name ...Amen.
