Out of the mouth of babes

I was thinking about Lauren today and had a sweet memory. Even as a very young child she had an uncanny sense of direction..nothing like her grandmother. It used to irk me when people would give me directions by saying ' just go north two miles'... that means nothing to me. You may as well have said sprout wings and fly into the sun. ...on one particular morning about 13 years ago I was on the way to Life group with my neighbor Jerry Collins.  Lauren was buckled into her seat in back. At this time Lauren is only 3 years old. Life group was being held at Sister Loretta Rice's home.. Jerry and I were talking away as I drove us that day. From the back seat Lauren said "Nana!'...I interrupted her and said" Just a minute sweetheart"..Jerry and I returned to our discussion...a minute later I hear.."Nana...." I said "Lauren, just a minute..Nana is talking" I looked in the mirror and saw her fold her arms and give me her pouty face. Jerry and I were just about to start up again when Lauren mumbled "We are never going to get to Life Group...Nana passed Sista Rice's street a long time ago..." She was right. I was blocks away from the street I was supposed to turn on. Jerry was very impressed that Lauren knew her way at such a young age.

  1. That is sweet. Sometimes children should be heard and not just seen! LOL.

It is amazing to me that one so young would know the way. You know me. I am directionally challenged.

God bless you with peace and a good nights rest and a happy day tomorrow.
